1 - Can other accounting software apart from MYOB be used ?
Yes it can, any accounting software that can import GL transactions will be able to import data from the database. Most accounting software can, if you are not sure check with your software provider.
2 - Can we log onto the database remotely ?
You can access the database remotely by a variety of methods, Virtual Private Network (VPN), Apple Remote Access, Rdmore Access Software, Terminal Services and Citrix Metaframe.
3 - Do I need a server to run the software ?
An installation of up to 3 users can run without a server installation, but you need to remember that the computer that is hosting cannot be turned off or others will not be able to connect and backup needs to be handled carefully. A server installation is faster and more secure.
4 - Is my data secure
The answer to this depends on the type of installation you have and how you manage your backups. But to give you one example if you make a change on the screen then your computer crashes you will only lose the last entry you made, all other data will be still on the server.
5 - How many staff can use the database
Up to 250 staff members can access the data on a server version of the database
6 - What if 2 staff members are trying to access the data on the server at the one time ?
The server has a protocal to ensure that there is no conflict so multiple staff members can work on the one project simulteoneously

Files from other software packages can be linked to the the document management system. Work & Excel templates can be designed and linked to the database so standard documents can be created without having to input all the address and project details etc.
8 - If I decide to stop using the software can I get my data back ?
You certainly can the data is owned by you and there is an export facility built into the database which can export all your data to Excel
.
9 - Can I link an already created document to the database ?
You certainly may, you can either create a link to where the document is currently stored or you can transfer it into the datacase document management system.
